About SHODOSHIMA
An island of 153 sq km with about 26,000 residents. Its warm climate made it the birthplace of olive cultivation in Japan, and soy sauce breweries with 400 years of history are still at work. The north side has the cliffs of Kankakei, the south side gentle sandy beaches, and the contrasting coastlines are part of its charm.
There are four ports (Tonosho, Ikeda, Kusakabe and Sakate) with routes from Takamatsu, Okayama and Kobe. Get around by bus, rental car or e-bike.
