Hotels, stations, convenience stores, chain restaurants and major tourist facilities accept credit cards and QR payments (PayPay etc.). On the other hand, noodle-factory-style udon shops, island shops, shrine offices and local buses are often cash only, so carry coins and ¥1,000 notes.
Kotoden accepts nationwide transit IC cards such as Suica and ICOCA as well as its own "IruCa." JR Shikoku around Takamatsu also accepts ICOCA. Limousine buses accept IC cards and contactless credit cards.
ATMs at Seven Bank (7-Eleven) and Japan Post Bank accept overseas cards. There are ATMs at Takamatsu Station and the airport too.
Department stores in Takamatsu and some souvenir shops offer tax-free shopping (bring your passport).
