Morning at Ritsurin Garden, lunch at Kitahama Alley, then Shikokumura and the Yashima-ru sunset over the Seto Inland Sea. The classic Takamatsu day, by Kotoden and bus alone.

Climb the 785 steps first thing, then Zentsu-ji where Kukai was born and Marugame Castle with Japan's tallest stone walls. Finish at the Seto Ohashi Tower and the Higashiyama Kaii Setouchi Art Museum with views of sea and bridge.

Morning ferry from Takamatsu Port to Naoshima. The Red Pumpkin at Miyanoura Port, the Chichu Art Museum, Benesse House Museum and the Art House Project in Honmura, by town bus and on foot.

Day 1 on Naoshima with the Chichu Art Museum and a night at Benesse House; Day 2 across to Teshima for the Yokoo House, the Teshima Art Museum and the rice terraces. Two days spent "sleeping" in a museum.

Arrive to match low tide at Angel Road, then the Olive Park, Hishio no Sato and the Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village. Day 2 takes in the Kankakei Ropeway and the Nakayama rice terraces before returning to Tonosho Port.

Morning at Takaya Shrine's Torii in the Sky and the Zenigata sand art, afternoon up Mt. Shiude, then photograph the mirror sea at Chichibugahama as low tide meets sunset.

Morning "Meon" to the Onigashima Cave on Megijima, midday boat over to Ogijima to walk the alley art and lighthouse. Back to Takamatsu Port in the evening for a drink at Kitahama Alley.

Day 1: Takamatsu's famous garden and Yashima. Day 2: Konpira-san and Marugame Castle. Day 3: art on Naoshima. Three days covering Kagawa's classics without a car.
